Dutch Startup Equidam Launches Free Valuation Solution in
French
All French startups can now have a deeper understanding of their valuation as Dutch startup
Equidam announced the release of their valuation tool in French. Equidam currently provides
valuation for more than 2500 startups in the Netherlands and 4500 worldwide. Fifteen equity
crowdfunding platforms are already partners of the service including Symbid, Seedups.ca and
Equidam is a “business valuation platform” (think Quickbooks for Valuation) with methodologies
specifically targeted at early-stage ventures. Companies can fill in easy questions and financials
and get an objective estimate of their value. They can download valuation reports for use in
funding negotiations or upload them on crowdfunding platforms.
CEO & cofounder Daniel Faloppa says “France has been experiencing a surge in startups and
innovation. Expanding Equidam by adding French was a no brainer for us and on target with our
mission of helping as many companies get a better understanding of their value”.
COO and cofounder Gianluca Valentini adds "Every shareholder wants to know the value of
his/her shares. Commonly it takes months and a considerable amount of money to get even a
rough estimate. Technology empowers people to get these estimates in minutes. That is what I
love about what we do”.
Equidam worked with investors, valuation professionals and companies to fine tune its 5
valuation methods. 3 of the methods are established variations of DCF (Discounted Cash Flow)
calculations, while the other 2 are adaptation of classic asset methods to early stage ventures.
Equidam then uses machine learning and data backfitting to improve with each new datapoint
gathered.
Pricing for Equidam is competitive, ranging from $49 - $499 /mo. depending on the level of
analysis required. Higher priced accounts are usually purchased by Professionals, like the Dutch
financing advisory group Credion.
Equidam direct competitors include WorthWorm and BizEquity. Equidam key differentiation point
is the high focus on early stage ventures. The industry of online valuation is still nascent and
growing, so the company expects fiercer competition in the future.
